OUR HISTORY

On July 22, 2005, The Writer's Hut was born.  The brainchild of #1 Essence Bestselling author, Kendra Norman-Bellamy, the group was designed out of the desire to to give authors of African American literature another option for online communication and interaction.  Through The Writer's Hut, those who put pen to paper and create literary material (fiction or non-fiction) can meet with like minds to have their works-in-progress critiqued by those who understand the process the most.  The group is also a vehicle used by writers to discuss, in an intimate setting, the craft of writing and to share their literary plans and experiences.  Most importantly, The Writer's Hut was designed in a manner where each writer is acknowledged and treated with respect as a sister or brother of the pen.  A growing, progressive, and professional atmosphere is maintained AT ALL TIMES and each member is an ACTIVE participant.
